Not being a motorcycle enthusiast, Gary wondered what he was going to do with the motorcycle. It didn't take long to figure out when his father, Walter (Wally), a past member and former chief of the Kilbourn Volunteer Fire Department, suggested that Gary raffle the bike off and give any money made (after the cost of the motorcycle) to the KVFD. Thus, the Kilbourn Volunteer Fire Department's Harley Raffle was born. Starting in 2001 and continuing on today, the firemen buy a Harley Davidson motorcycle and raffle it off. The motorcycle is displayed today, as it was back in 2000, at Nig's Bar, thanks to the cooperation of the Connor family -- Terry, Penny and Jim -- the owners and operators of Nig's. The drawing will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at our year-end party held at The River Walk Pub & Grill in Downtown Wisconsin Dells.
